Japanese video game publisher is seeking a Controller and FP&A Manager to join their team. The primary role is to oversee and manage various aspects of the company's financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficient financial management.


Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. 
  • Assists external auditors and provides required statements and information
  • Entry AR invoice and AP bill to ERP.
  • Identify and correct errors that occur due to data entry. 
  • Bank reconciliation, balance sheet balance reconciliation.
  • Manage the organization's cash flow, forecasting cash needs, and optimizing cash balances.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions to ensure timely and accurate processing.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and tax laws.
  • Identify areas of financial risk and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor and analyze budget variances, providing insights and recommendations to management.
  • Assist in creating financial forecasts based on market trends and business projections.
  • Implement new systems or tools to enhance financial reporting and analysis.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and support in their professional development.


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's degree or CPA preferred).
  • Over 6 years of experience in progressively responsible accounting roles, with some experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
  • In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant financial regulations.
  • Business level speaking and writing skill in Japanese.
  • Understanding of income tax and corporate income tax, VAT and Performs calculations and tax returns related to sales tax.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Strong ethical standards and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with Google workspace and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong attention to deadlines.
