Engineering Manager
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Engineering Manager will oversee, plan, direct, and coordinate activities within the Engineering department, fostering a high-performance culture focused on quality and productivity standards. Additionally, this role will ensure ongoing manufacturing strategies that include maintaining quality staffing levels.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise and mentor the engineering team, allocating workloads and overseeing engineering activities.
- Establish achievable goals, prioritize issues, monitor progress, and ensure goals are met.
- Lead problem-solving efforts using innovative thinking and thorough analyses.
- Utilize internal and external resources to develop, advance, and retain talent within the team.
- Represent the engineering team in meetings with customers and suppliers.
- Design, develop, and implement vehicle electrical systems and integration, including embedded hardware and software, circuits, wiring, and mechanical interfaces.
- Design, develop, and implement vehicle mechanical and structural systems, including FEA, strength calculations, car body, and truck facilities.
- Design, develop, and implement core vehicle systems such as Propulsion, Braking, APS, HVAC, Doors, Communication systems, and TCMS system.
- Perform testing and troubleshooting of LRV electrical and mechanical systems, evaluating and documenting results.
- Create and review engineering documents, reports, and technical proposals.
- Assist with special projects as assigned by the Vice President of Engineering.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in electrical, mechanical, and systems engineering; Rolling Stock experience strongly preferred.
- 2-3 years of supervisory experience.
- Experience with communication protocols such as RS232, RS485, MVB, Ethernet, and Internet protocols.
- Proficient in computer hardware and software, including troubleshooting with Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, etc.
- Solid experience with version control.
- Strong leadership skills with a commitment to project completion, even over multi-year projects.
- Excellent schedule and task management abilities, consistently meeting deadlines.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, CAD, or related engineering software.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
SALARY
USD 170,000 – 190,000
