POSITION SUMMARY

The Product Development Supervisor will play a key role in the planning, development, and execution of new and existing products. This position will be responsible for the overall management of promotional and seasonal product development, including packaging, while ensuring compliance with regulatory and industry standards.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, develop, and execute new and existing products in alignment with consumer and market trends as well as company strategy.

  • Lead the development and execution of promotional and seasonal products.

  • Manage package design and create packaging that aligns with brand identity.

  • Conduct internal sensory evaluations and provide feedback to the R&D team.

  • Collaborate with the Consumer Research Department to incorporate research findings into product development.

  • Work cross-functionally with external suppliers, Sales, and Supply Chain Management (SCM) to ensure timely product launches.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of product specifications, development processes, and artwork.

  • Analyze industry trends and competitor products to identify opportunities for innovation.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring completion on time and within budget.

  • Collaborate with QA and external consultants to ensure products, ingredients, labels, and claims comply with FDA regulations and company standards.

  • Continuously improve departmental procedures and strengthen organizational efficiency.

  • Provide training, support, and guidance to other department team members as needed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in product development or product marketing within the food industry.

  • At least 3 years of experience in launching new products from concept to commercialization.

  • Strong knowledge of FDA labeling requirements.

  • Basic understanding of GS1 Standards.

  • Strong creative and visual communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational and document management abilities.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to work effectively with global teams and cross-functional departments.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Japanese fluency (speak, read, and write) is required.
