POSITION SUMMARY
To achieve the Asian Channel sales quota and accounts profitability goal, you will be required to travel through your assigned territory to promote products and solicit orders from existing and prospective customers.
Essential Duties & RESPONSIBILITIES
Channel Sales:
Contact distributor sales and communicate with them to build a good relationship of trust.
Sell products and provide information for sales support to customers/retailers.
Collect and compile information on customers, retailers, and market trends.
Visit prospective customers, including traveling to other states, to develop new business accounts and ensure continuous and increasing sales revenue.
Identify issues and think of proposals that are likely to lead to sales.
Create proposals and negotiate with customers.
Work together with customers (visit retailers, HQ meetings, etc.).
Create and deliver sales materials and presentations to customers in coordination with partner representatives.
Arrange store demos and contact demo companies.
Participate in customer and market events when necessary (sometimes on weekends).
Estimate delivery dates to customers based on knowledge of availability and delivery schedules.
Provide prompt and excellent service for customers by placing emergency orders and delivering such orders.
Receive and review returned, damaged, and expired items and create credit memos.
Establish professional customer/vendor relationships with appropriate customer personnel.
Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, with the ability to exercise good judgment and discretion.
Client Visits:
Conduct regular store visits, develop proposals, and coordinate with grocery or store managers to obtain approvals and provide necessary support.
Maintain sales floor, assist in stocking customers’ shelves, check for spoilage and out-of-date products, and set up POP or customer displays.
Display, demonstrate, and/or distribute samples, emphasizing salable features of the products at customers’ sites.
Collect information that will lead to sales.
Gather information by observing the sales floor, other company’s products, promotions, etc.
Provide information on products and sales materials, suggest sales areas, and make promotional proposals.
Deliver, assemble, and install sales materials.
Administrative Duties:
Assist in setting up trade show booths and preparing shipment of equipment and materials.
Timely prepare and submit reports, including weekly/monthly activity reports and progress, tradeshow reports, business trip reports, expense reports, meeting reports, etc.
Log notes of all activities and update customer profiles/customer marketing program details/deals/terms, etc., into the CRM sales portal. Enter leads and maintain detail pages by keeping up to date with correct information.
Review customer deductions and confirm claims are on the right causes. Place disputes on deductions and assist the accounting team with payment collection as needed.
Handle business inquiries by phone, facsimile, and e-mail: investigate and resolve customer problems.
Carry out responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
Seek continuous improvement, more efficient and less expensive ways and means in work processes.
Be reliable, flexible, detail-oriented, and able to maintain confidential information.
Maintain high ethical standards in the workplace.
Maintain good communication with other managers, staff, and outside contacts.
Report all irregular issues and problems to management for solutions.
Address and escalate client concerns when required and follow up as necessary to ensure satisfactory resolution.
Comply with all company policies and procedures while upholding and demonstrating the company’s values internally and externally.
Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
Perform special projects and other duties as assigned by your supervisor or senior management in compliance with Federal and State Laws.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in business or related business field.
Trilingual in English, Mandarin, and business-level Japanese.
2+ years’ progressive sales experience within CPG and account management.
2+ years of syndicated data experience – IRI or Nielsen preferred.
Strong understanding of business models in determining and delivering results with a high impact on revenue and income goals.
Experience
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel).
Attention to detail and comfort with ambiguity and deadline pressures.
Teamwork skills and motivation to work effectively cross-functionally as well as independently.
Clear and concise communication, presentation, and reporting skills.
Willingness and desire to take on new challenges as the organization changes and grows.
Working knowledge of Salesforce or other data visualization tools, preferred.
Proficiency in statistics, forecasting, demand planning, and forecasting methods with an understanding of financial and operational impact, preferred.

Travel Requirements
Air and car travel (local and overnights) are required; may require traveling outside of the U.S. for business purposes.
WORK HOURS
This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
