TCMS Engineer 

 

POSITION OVERVIEW

The TCMS Engineer serves as the System Architect for rail vehicles, managing the Train Control Management System (TCMS) which oversees real-time monitoring of systems such as Propulsion, APS, Braking, Doors, HVAC, Signaling, and Communication. This role involves using deep system knowledge and collaborating with engineers and vendors to develop the TCMS.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review and approve supplier/vendor designs and documents.
  • Develop LRV-level network architecture and requirements.
  • Create tracking sheets, action item lists, and conduct weekly meetings.
  • Configure system architecture from technical specifications.
  • Identify digital I/O signals, establish data transmission, and create Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
  • Coordinate and participate in subsystem and vehicle-level testing.
  • Support subsystem and system integration activities.
  • Collaborate on the design of complex rail transit projects.
  • Provide technical direction and ensure vendor work accuracy.
  • Resolve technical problems and coordinate tasks.
  • Coordinate with project management groups.
  • Ensure proper system interface coordination.
  • Ensure design compliance with specifications, codes, and standards.
  • Evaluate and generate technical documents.
  • Support other departments with engineering matters.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields; Master’s degree a plus.
  • Knowledge of schematic diagrams and trainline functions.
  • 5+ years of TCMS design and testing experience.
  • Experience with communication protocol analyzers and software.
  • Knowledge in electrical and software engineering.
  • Familiarity with Embedded Systems operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux, RTOS).
  • Knowledge of GUI design and multithreaded systems.
  • Experience with communication networks (e.g., Serial, LON Works, TCN, Ethernet).
  • Strong project completion determination.
  • Excellent schedule and task management skills.
  • Proactive problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

SALARY
USD 130,000 -160,000
