POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for supporting multiple licenses and reporting to a designated supervisor. It involves supporting and associating with the licensing business, focusing primarily on merchandising and promotional design approvals of licensed articles. Daily communication with our Japan HQ office and licensees is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Organize approval process, artwork development schedule, samples etc. and share the
information internally.
Coordinate/request materials from the Japan HQ office and the delivery of materials and
assets to licensees.
Communicate with licensees and/or local agents and/or Japan HQ on a daily basis to have
smoother approval coordination and immediate solutions. Require to visit Licensee, if
necessary.
Coordinate/request to create new artworks from the Japan HQ office based on Licensee
and/or local trend needs.
Obtain and assess information in order to grasp the Licensees’ needs and to provide a better
solution to Licensees.
Coordinate and organize approval schedule to release the Articles on right timing.
Ensure the quality and accurate representation of the final Articles.
Finish tasks independently with periodical supervision and revision.
Coordinate Licensing Business:
Provide information and report as requested by the Japan HQ and/or Licensees and/or
Supervisor to ensure a smooth licensing transaction.
Take proactive and preventative measures to avoid problems and minimize licensing and
approval issues.
Consistently complete sales transactions, approvals, as well as complete and file required
documentation within a designated timeline.
Accurately ensure the collection of account receivables and closeouts within designated
timelines.
Be able to increase sales opportunities with the development of marketing plans, materials,
approvals, and coordinate artworks/styleguides within the designated timeline.
Be able to keep sample room and space in good order and well organize final samples
including pre-production samples.
Support Administration of Licensing Execution:
Develop and maintain appropriate project timelines in line with Supervisor’s expectations.
Provide information as requested by Japan HQ and/or Licensee.
Obtain and assess information, statements, samples, etc. that can be used for future sales
activity.
Organize necessary and/or important documents for Licensing including filing contracts,
royalty reports, approval documents etc.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND QUALIFICATIONS
Associate or Bachelor’s degree
2-3 years of experience in Licensing, Merchandising, design and/or Sales preferred
Strong time management skills; you should be able to keep track of multiple projects in
various stages of completion and progress
Excellent written and follow-up skills
Detail oriented, strong organizational skills
Experience and knowledge with Photoshop and Illustrator is a plus
Japanese speaking is a plus
