Lead Engineer, Systems Engineer
POSITION OVERVIEW
Provides technical leadership to the electrical team. As an early people leader, the Lead Engineer can hire and develop talent, and provide informal guidance to junior engineers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leverage internal and external resources to develop, advance, and retain talent.
- Lead the team to solve complex problems through thought leadership and robust analyses.
- Oversee subsystem vendors to deliver acceptable products on time by providing accurate input at the right times.
- Attend meetings with customers and suppliers as the key representative of the engineering team.
- Design, develop, and deploy vehicle electrical systems and integration, including embedded hardware and software, circuits, wiring, and associated mechanical interfaces.
- Conduct performance testing and troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical systems, and evaluate and document results.
- Create and review engineering documents, reports, and technical proposals.
- Assist with special projects as assigned by the Senior Engineering Manager.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field required; a Master’s degree is a plus.
- 3+ years of experience in electrical, mechanical, and systems engineering, with experience in Rolling Stock.
- 2+ years of experience in supplier management of railway vehicle subsystems with US or European suppliers.
- 2+ years of experience in requirement management of Rolling Stock subsystems.
- Experience in troubleshooting Rolling Stock subsystems using hardware and mechanical drawings, circuit schematics, and various tools such as PTU.
- Experience in supervising Railway RAMS engineering, including Verification and Validation (V&V).
- Experience as a team leader with a strong determination to complete long-term projects.
- Ability to teach others and assist teams with abstract technology concepts.
- Ability to travel to various domestic and international destinations.
SALARY
USD 140,000 – 170,000
