Manager - Merchandise licensing sales (Latin/South America)
A Japanese entertainment company is looking for a Merchandise licensing sales Manager.
Reports to President/CEO of LA office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales;
Merchandising, promotional, and event license for Latin/South America for all titles.
Responsible for deal negotiations for local, global, and import/export deals involving Latin/South America, either directly with licensees or through local agents or affiliate offices.
Getting deal approvals from HQ in Japan.
Organizing territories and categories licensed.
Managing style guide assets following terms agreed.
Analyse existing licensees’ businesses and market situation in each territory and take actions as needed.
Keep licensee list up-to-date.
Attend trade shows as needed.
Accounting/Budgeting;
Responsible for planning and managing budget and accounting related topics for Latin and South America territories;
Planning and achieving sales budget.
Reviewing quarterly royalty reports.
Responsible for monthly sales booking.
Managing account payable and accounts receivable.
Overseeing agent’s auditing process.
Legal;
Liaise between legal department and management or partners for all legal topics.
Drafting templates for legal documents including various types of agreements and letters.
Respond to reports of counterfeit products.
Drafting various documents including licensing agreements, amendments, and various authorization letters using existing templates.
Coordinating Approval:
Responsible for design approval process;
Reviewing basic design regulations, understand technical limitations including color limitations, etc.
Overseeing and resolving any issues during approval process; communicate with local partners and licensors in Japan.
Quality check for final sample products and resolve when any issues.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 10+ years experience in consumer product, promotional and event licensing.
A strong administrative skills; superior organizational and time management skills required.
Must be able to give meticulous attention to details while meeting deadlines.
Basic understanding of licensing business.
Basic understanding of IP law, including trademark strategy, knowledge of identifying and enforcing against counterfeit products.
Basic understanding of accounting for sales booking and budgeting.
Have experience working with partners in Latin/South America.
Basic understanding of PC/Mac operating systems, office productivity suits, and file-sharing.
Must be at least bilingual: English and Spanish (and Portuguese preferred) OR English/Japanese
Associate/Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education required.
Travel requirement: up to 20%
SALARY
$75,000 - 120,000 (DOE)
